Our programme is accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and so develops in-depth practical accounting skills, as well as theoretically informed understandings of accounting as a global practice, in both private and publicsector settings. The programme provides you with the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of specialist areas such as corporate financial management: the roles of accounting in strategic planning: private-sector investment; and foreign exchange markets. Central to our programme is our commitment to helping each of you develop your ethical understanding and professional integrity. The combination of strong technical skills and reflective understanding is, in our view, the best preparation you can have for your future career and professional life; It is also a combination that can give you a strong competitive advantage when it comes to starting your career. The Accounting and Finance department also holds the gold standard of recognition as a Centre of Excellence in the provision of finance teaching by The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI). The partnership between a Chartered Institute and a higher education institution is seen as an excellent opportunity for students to bridge the gap between academia and the work place
