The MA track Art and Media Studies addresses art, literature, and popular culture in the modern digitalized and mediatized public spheres. The program combines theories from different disciplines, including media studies, art history, sociology, philosophy and literary studies, enabling in-depth analysis of artistic and cultural expressions in online and offline contexts. Central topics in the program are the influence of art in society, the way in which media communicate about social and political issues, and the role of artists to evaluate, critique and help to understand various social and political issues. These topics are addressed in a media context in which social media play an important role. Art and Media Studies is a track of the MA Culture Studies.
